Since its inception, members have made narrative and documentary projects, met collaborators, expanded their networks, secured producers, landed financing and more.
In 2023, our core focus is guiding members to make feature films of their own, following the exact low-budget / DIY method that I just developed on my last feature film.
This system empowers any filmmaker willing to put in the work to complete a feature film this year - regardless of their budget or whether they work full time.
Our monthly meetings /incubator sessions are the cornerstone of The Backlot. They are available for all to attend live or watch later on demand. Each session guides you through the feature filmmaking process step by step, from concept to finished movie.
We also have guest speakers join us, special live events, pitch opportunities, a private social network to meet likeminded filmmakers, and much more.
